I have been a member of the International Academy of Biologic Dentistry and Medicine for over 5 years. Evidently, many dentists were joining this Organization only so they could say they were a “Biologic Dentist”, but not actually understanding or applying the principles of biologic dentistry. The Academy decided that with the pandemic going on, it was particularly important that members understand and apply these important principles. Consequently The Academy decided to require all members be “Certified” members. The certification process involves an extensive written exam, and what are called “Orals”(which is a very thorough interview of your knowledge), and finally a visual exam of your office. I have completed that process and I am officially a “Certified” member. I feel this was good decision on the part of The Academy for it helps patients feel assured that these dentists can walk the talk.
